This has been the argument this week and guess what? Matt Tullis told the kids, "Every pod-caster has a written document that guides a great show. You may not think that, but they exist."
Touché!
The kids were also fascinated by the green screen and we must have taken two hundred photos. Within minutes, they were cutting out their images and putting them in silly memes and scenes from around the world. Did I mention that I've never seen a more selfie-oriented groups of human beings in my life?
Truth is, I can see why. These kids are beautiful and brilliant.
They would make excellence additions to any mediated world they want to live within.
Today, however, we'll be recording a community poem created from the words of the Ubuntu Academy youth and going forth with two podcasts written by teams of kids. We made the executive decision to take more control of recordings so we can accomplish the most growth with language and learning. I'm optimistic this is going to be absolutely historic and incredible. These kids rock.
Yesterday was a phenomenal writing day and all the kids accomplished tremendous amounts of storytelling. They've had fun the last couple of weeks and the the work is coming together. I can't wait for this day to begin!
